Miracle of Life Assignment - Period 1

We spent a couple of days together watching the Miracle of Life as a way of introducing ourselves to the Human Reproductive System to the the development of the Fetus into a baby.

Please answer the following questions based on your experience of the movie:
1. What were the three things in the movie that you thought were the most interesting OR the most cool OR that made you think?
2. Take a look the sheet I passed out before the movie and review the purposes of the male and female reproductive systems. Write two or three paragraphs about how the male and female reproductive systems achieve thoses purposes. Please be specific about the parts and how they work.

Please post your responses here.

In the movie the miracle of life I learned that it is a lot harder to make a baby than you would think. I never thought that the sex cells weren’t the same as any other cell. And for a baby to be made there has to be a combination of the female sex cell and the male sex cell. And it all started from that one cell in the beginning.

The purpose of the male reproductive system is to produce sperm to fertilize an egg to create a zygote which will become a baby. The purpose of the female reproductive system is to create an egg, make the body ready for reproduction and hold a fetus for 9 months until it is ready for birth at witch time the pregnant women will give a very disgusting birth

The three things I thought was cool were that they were able to get the camera in the man penis, the camera in the womb and the camera in the vagina during sexual intercourse.

The male reproductive system’s purpose is making sperm and delivering sperm. The male makes sperm through having a low testes temperature. It delivers sperm through having sexual intercourse with a woman.

The female reproductive system’s purpose is making eggs, getting the female body ready for the body and developing the baby until it’s ready to live outside its mother. It makes the eggs by ovaries or also known gonads. It gets the mother ready by the menstrual cycle, which prepares uterus for pregnancy. And the baby survives until it’s ready to live outside by the umbilical cord. Also the mother should have healthy foods and avoid drugs and alcohol.

In the miracle of lifethere was some info that surprised me alot, like how sperm onleyhave 24 hours to make it to the egg before tey runn out of enzymes, also the fact that 20 percent of a mans sperm cout comes out defective, and that only about fifty or a hundred sperm actualy make it to the egg. this information shows me that it is much harder to sucseffuly have a kid than i thought.

The purpose of the female reprouctive system is to make the egg for the zygote and the monoploid number of chromosomes for the potenntial child. the perpose of the female reproductive system also includes holding the potential child within its self, and feeding it ang giving it all necesary things for survival.

The male reproductive system's purpose is to make sperm cells that carry the other monoploid to the egg so that the zygote will have a full set of shromosomes. the male reproductive system has to make as many spermcells as possible, so the chances of fertilazion is much greater.

1) Well 3 things that were interestingis that sperm only has like about 24 hrs to reach the egg, and how alot of the mans sperm is defective, and also how only 50 out of 1 million sperm really make it around the egg.

2)The Female reproductive systems purpose is to make the eggs, as well as receiving sperm to complete the chromosome number. Also to get the body ready for devolping the offspring until its ready to live outside of the mothers womb. The ovary makes the eggs. Which has the hapliod. The menstural cycle prepares the mother for pregnancy.
The male reproductive systems purpose is to make and deliver
sperm to complete the dipliod. By fusing with the egg during sexual intercourse. The sperm in made in the testes which is held and protected by the scrotum. The testes hang off the body in order to keep the testes 4 degrees cooler in order to make the sperm made right.

In class we watched a movie called “The Miracle of Life”. It’s a movie describing and illustrating how a baby is made, how it develops and finally, the birth. It goes into great detail about each stage that the fetus goes through until it’s born. What I liked most about the movie was how they made the baby’s development and birth like a journey. It is an amazing and dramatic journey.
The purpose of the human male reproductive system is to produce sperm. Over 400 billion sperm are made in the male’s reproductive life. Sperm is needed to fertilize the woman’s egg in order to produce a baby. 100 million sperm are made in the testis everyday. The scrotum has a cooler temperature then the rest of the man’s body because the scrotum is where the sperm is stored. A male releases semen through ejaculation. The sperm travels and it only takes one sperm to break through the egg’s protective wall and fertilize the egg in the fallopian tube.
The purpose of a human female reproductive system is to produce eggs. The menstrual cycle gets the body ready for the developing embryo, should the egg be fertilized. Eggs are produced in the ovary, inside the female oviduct. The walls of the uterus thicken with blood, which will house and nourish the egg while it develops there. During ovulation eggs are released and travel down the fallopian tube. If a sperm fertilizes an egg, it will plant itself in the uterine wall and begins to gestate (grow). It will stay there for approximately 38 weeks. At this point, the baby’s body is mature enough to live outside the mother’s body.

Three things that i thought were the most interesting or cool about The Miracle Of Life video was how they had little tiny cameras to go inside the woman or men's body. Another thing that I thought was interesting was that i liked how i could see the sperm traveling through the body and watch its difficult journey as it goes through to get to the body. The last thing that I thought was interesting about the video was how the entire process took place.

The female reproductive systems achieve these purposes by producing eggs.It also gets the body ready for fertilization and makes sure the sperm enters the woman's body to fertilize it. Also to provide a favorable environment for developing embryos and to move offspring (s) outside of the body at the right time.

The male reproductive systems achieve these purposes by delivering sperm to the female where it combines with the egg to form a fertilized embryo.

The weirdest not so much interesting this is how the camera was so small. But another interesting thing is how the sperm only has twenty four hours before it runs out of enzymes.

In the movie miracle of life my three favorite parts were the great race, development of the fertilized egg, and the mother giving birth to her baby. The reason why I liked the amazing race was that it was all about the sperms journey to the egg in the oviduct. The journey was really epic. The reason why I liked the part about the fertilized egg growing was because I thought it was interesting to see what happens to the fertilized egg when it’s the womb because I was once in the womb. The reason why liked the part when the mother gives birth to her baby is because it was disgusting, intense, and gory.

The purpose of making sperm is the human’s can survive. Female eggs wouldn’t be able to get fertilized if sperm wasn’t made. The purpose of the sperm is so that it can fertilize an egg. To make sperm you have to have gone through puberty. To deliver sperm the penis has to be ejaculated so it can go into the female’s vagina. The sperm travels through the urethra and then into the vagina. The sperm is made in the testis.
